If Cardinal Pell
Knew women well
He wouldn’t opine
We’re in decline
Due to the role
Of birth control.
Through all the years
And all the tears
From emancipation
To wider liberation
It’s my perception
That contraception
More than education
Was our salvation.
A medical solution,
It brought resolution
To sexual inequity
With equal opportunity.
He can think what he will,
I say, God bless the pill!
